Dogs have always been a part of my life. After loosing our poodle, I was not ready to get attached to an animal again. My daughter decided she wanted to get her first puppy, a yorkie named Kippy. He was my first grandbaby and I could not help but create cute things for him all the time.
Halloween costumes, collars, coats-I was always on the lookout for cute fabrics and embellishments so I could spoil my little grand puppy. After getting so much feedback from others wanting to know where his cute things came from, my husband and I branched out and started a company called Kippy & Co.
We found that there is a real niche with custom collars. My husband does engraving and stone setting and leather work, and I do all the sewing. It’s easy to find a collar like every one else has at the pet store, but I pride myself on investing significant amounts of time in finding unique fabrics and ribbons to layer up to create often times one of a kind collars, since sometimes the items are rare. Everyone has a unique style and taste and I love it when I can create a collar that is exactly what they are looking for that they couldn¹t find anywhere else.
