Oil Spill Needs Your Pet Fur

Who knew that our pets’ fur could help with this environmental disaster. There are many grooming salons that have been shipping donations of pet fur to aid in creating absorbent booms to soak up and remove oil from the recent spill in the Gulf. Once fur shipments arrive in the Gulf Coast region, volunteers gather to assemble the booms and prepare for their deployment. The booms are made by stuffing donated nylon stockings with hair and fur. With this collaborative effort, up to a ton of fur a day will be shipped. This is a wonderful way for all of us pet owners to help protect our environment.

The New Photography Studio

The holidays are over and we are excited about the new studio that we renovated!!! What fun it is to watch a room totally be transformed into something new:-) The “kids” got a little paint in their hair, but they were having such a good time running around there playing and chasing each other. Kippy is such a trooper….he’s with his mom every step of the way in whatever she decides to do. He wanted to make sure that he was the first to get his photo taken in this new studio. So we took one of Kippy on the paint ladder and then we piled all the kids on the paint ladder. Wow!!!! The things that I come across when I’m not even looking. These Business Bags are sooo cool!!! They give a whole new look to “poop bags”. My personal favorite is the Burberry knockoff, but there are over a dozen to choose from. Each Business Bag comes with 15 Designer Bags (1 roll) each bag is color and scent coordinated. They are definitely worth checking out. I mean if you have to be the “pooper picker upper”, you might as well do it in style. Saugatuck was a blast this past weekend. We decked out so many dogs with some new duds! Thanks to everyone who made it out. We are looking forward to more, and hopefully we will see some more faces and furry friends at our next show!

Woofstock Fest 2009

What a great day we had at the first annual Woofstock Fest. They offered something for everyone from agility demonstrations to an extreme doggy makeover. Owners and their dogs were relaxing in the warm sunshine as the weather could not have been better. Not too hot and not too cold. It was a paw-fect day:-) If you missed it this year, you’ll have to make it a “must do” for next year. Here are some photos that we took highlighting the day from our booth. It was fun outfitting the dogs in new collars and harnesses. We can’t wait for next year!!!:-)

Croc’s For Your Pet

Everywhere you look people are wearing crocs. They have become the “voice of feet” from newborn to nursing home. Imagine my surprise, while strolling through the Pet Expo in Orlando, when I spotted this pet bed in the shape of a croc!!! I have to say it is pretty funny. They call it the Sasquatch Pet Bed. It comes in six colors and has a sock that can be easily removed for washing. All I could think when I saw this was “WOW”!!! Now you and your pet can match!!! There are always two big questions when it comes time to plan a trip. What are we going to do with the dogs? and where should we go? I think I have your answer for you. If it’s not your answer, it might be mine:-) Looks like “Carmel-by-the-Sea: Dog Heaven on Earth” is where everyone will be happy. In this read you will find that they have everything covered. The hotels, restaurants, shops and galleries welcome canine companions, with some going as far as to offer special doggie menus and treats.
