Wow!!!! The things that I come across when I’m not even looking. These Business Bags are sooo cool!!! They give a whole new look to “poop bags”. Croc’s For Your Pet

Everywhere you look people are wearing crocs. They have become the “voice of feet” from newborn to nursing home. Imagine my surprise, while strolling through the Pet Expo in Orlando, when I spotted this pet bed in the shape of a croc!!! I have to say it is pretty funny. They call it the Sasquatch Pet Bed. It comes in six colors and has a sock that can be easily removed for washing. All I could think when I saw this was “WOW”!!! Now you and your pet can match!!! Pet High Chair

We have discovered a great way to keep our pets out of trouble. This high chair (better known as a sassy seat for some of us) lets your pet sit next to you while you work, read, dine or surf the Web. When I accidentally stumbled upon this, I thought to myself “girlfriend!!! you have just found the best idea for keeping track of the little fur blob”. This chair works extremely well when potty training. It conveniently attaches to any table top surface. It’s the cheapest babysitter I’ve found yet:-) It’s easy to tote as it folds flat. I love it!!! I use mine when I do art fairs as it takes up little space and keeps my “fur kids” up where I can see them.

Now that Christmas is over, I would have to say that the 4 fur kids in this household all believe in Santa. They were asking me if Santa is a human or if he is ~ you know ~ one of them. And of course some of the fur kids left dog bones for Santa and some left cookies ~ both of which were gone. Sooooo believers they are!!!! Something that was totally unexpected was a Wish list from Santa himself. He loves the leather collars that the fur kids here are wearing and noticed that they are all handmade. He had more questions about HOW they are made and I was able to tell him about “our” workshop and how the leather collars here are made with tools that were used to make mens’ leather belts back in the 1930′s. Nothing on the collars is done with a machine. The crystals and everything that these collars are embellished with are all hand set so the pressure is different on every crystal, concho, heart, stud, spike etc. That is what everyone ~ including Santa ~ loves about the leather collars that the fur kids at this house wear. I don’t know about your house, but mine is barkin’ about halloween and what fun it’s going to be. Everyone has their costume and they have tried them on multiple times. Waiting anxiously for the day to arrive and taking turns “posing” for the classic photo that we take every year. When I was growing up, we would have never thought of dressing up our family dog. I keep thinking back to the show “Green Acres” and how Zsa Zsa dressed up her yorkie. My gosh!!!! The woman was ahead of her time!!! I’m not exactly sure what she dressed her dog in for halloween, but I’m sure she didn’t have the choices that we have. There are Yoda costumes, Inmate costumes, various insects, Superheroes, as well as the traditional scary witches and Dracula costumes. The ideas are endless…..comparable to purses and shoes. But, getting back to what we were originally barkin’ about…..Kippy is a football player, Bomber is a lion, Brassy Sue is a bumble bee. Happy Howl-O-ween to you!!!

Breath Mint for your Dog

We’ve all been there…you know….when you arrive at someone’s house and their dog is the first one to greet you. Providing their breath doesn’t smell, it’s not usually too annoying, but sometimes the things dogs eat….whew!!!! DogToids to the rescue!!! Finally there is hope for my furry, four legged friend. Made with beef, liver and fish flavors, these bone shaped breath mints are irresistible, but it’s the parsley that has been thrown in that gives their breath that fresh smell. Preparing your dog for the new baby

It seems like a lifetime ago when I was trying to prepare our Bassett Hound, Fred, for the arrival of our first child. Imagine my thoughts of envy when I found this cd – Baby Sounds For Pets. My first thought was “I could have used that”!!!! But then I just decided to be excited for those of you that are lucky enough to have something like this available to you. This is so perfect for getting your furry friend ready to “move it on over” and be the “big dog” instead of the baby. Every dog is different and some have a harder time than others but all of them require lots of patience. And if you’ll ever notice, couples always seem to get a dog first, then have children. Do you think this somehow is a prequel to the real thing? Well, the bottom line is……if you don’t have the patience, just get the cd. Back in the day, and I mean WAY back in the day, my Mother would have told me “play the cd every day….it makes for good birth control”. Well…….28 years and two kids later I think “the cd? – the kids – the cd? – the kids”. Maybe I didn’t listen to it long enough:-) She must have left that part out:-)

Xylitol deadly to dogs

I was shocked when I learned that Xylitol is toxic to dogs. It’s something that we don’t think about. We tend to think that if we can consume “it”, our dogs can too. There has never been a bigger misconception than exactly this. Xylitol is a sugar alcohol used in candy and chewing gum. It is also found in chewable vitamins and throat lozenges. Just 3 grams of xylitol can kill a 65 pound dog. Because the amount of sweetener used in sugar-free chewing gums varies by manufacturer and product, the number of sticks of gum that would prove fatal to a dog that size can’t be stated with precision. As a general rule of thumb between 8 and 10 pieces of gum might be deadly to a 65 pound canine, but a smaller dog could easily die after ingesting far less, possibly as few as two sticks of gum. A dog that has eaten Xylitol can be rapidly hit by a dangerous drop in blood sugar that causes weakness, lethargy, loss of coordination, collapse, and seizures. Those symptoms can develop within 30 minutes and your dog will need immediate veterinary treatment to survive. Without help, irreversible brain trauma occurs and the patient dies. If you think your dog has consumed sugarless gum or any other product containing Xylitol, call your veterinary immediately.

Tear-Stain Removal

Tear staining is a widespread problem among dogs and many people think that it only affects small dogs. The reality is that pets of any size and coat color can be affected. Tear-stains are actually the result of a condition called “epiphora”. When facial hair is wet, it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria. Tearing can be a result of a dietary issue or can be a reaction to things in the environment. If your pet has this problem, the pet food that you are using can be a key factor in causing excess tearing. Some of the things in their food such as food coloring, wheat, corn and soy are often the cause. Tear-stain removal products are available in two ways-those that work externally and those that work internally. Topical products tend to further irritate a dog’s eyes and don’t address the internal issue that is causing the problem. They remove the stains temporarily, causing them to return worse than before. Angels’ Eyes is a digestible powder that is sprinkled on the dog’s food and works internally to get at the root of the problem. Just remember that the stains didn’t appear over night, and they wont’s go away over night.
