Croc’s For Your Pet

Everywhere you look people are wearing crocs. They have become the “voice of feet” from newborn to nursing home. Imagine my surprise, while strolling through the Pet Expo in Orlando, when I spotted this pet bed in the shape of a croc!!! I have to say it is pretty funny. They call it the Sasquatch Pet Bed. It comes in six colors and has a sock that can be easily removed for washing. All I could think when I saw this was “WOW”!!! Now you and your pet can match!!! I don’t know about your house, but mine is barkin’ about halloween and what fun it’s going to be. Everyone has their costume and they have tried them on multiple times. Waiting anxiously for the day to arrive and taking turns “posing” for the classic photo that we take every year. When I was growing up, we would have never thought of dressing up our family dog. I keep thinking back to the show “Green Acres” and how Zsa Zsa dressed up her yorkie. My gosh!!!! The woman was ahead of her time!!! I’m not exactly sure what she dressed her dog in for halloween, but I’m sure she didn’t have the choices that we have. There are Yoda costumes, Inmate costumes, various insects, Superheroes, as well as the traditional scary witches and Dracula costumes. The ideas are endless…..comparable to purses and shoes. But, getting back to what we were originally barkin’ about…..Kippy is a football player, Bomber is a lion, Brassy Sue is a bumble bee. Happy Howl-O-ween to you!!!

Kippy’s Ice Cream

Summertime is ice cream time!!! My dogs love ice cream and with dairy products not being good for them, I had to find something that they could eat. When it’s hot and they’re wanting a cool treat I bust out these tasty little things and they go crazy:-) You can get pretty creative with this recipe. Just don’t ever substitute grapes or raisins in any recipe. These are very toxic to dogs.

Pet Strollers

We take our three dogs with us everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE. They’ve been to the movies, the mall and restaurants of all kinds. I decided one day that I needed to get a stroller for them. That was the day that my arm about fell off from carrying the 11lb. yorkie. He’s such a sweetheart and he really doesn’t know that he’s quite that big. He thinks he’s small like the other two. The stroller is an “arm” saver let me tell you!!! And I didn’t fool around when picking mine either. I got the one that goes thru practically everything – you know – it has the big tires? Sooooo let the “wheelin” begin!!!!!

Sniffany & Co. dog bed

The minute I saw these beds I just knew that I had to have one!!! I never knew that they made such cool beds. Every bed that I’ve seen is square, round, plain, blah, blah, blah……..But a Sniffany & Co. bed?????? Wow!!! But it gets better…..They also have a Furcedes bed, a 50′s bed, a taxi and the list goes on. That just covers the beds. Now if you’re looking for cool toys, they got that covered too. A life jacket for the dog

This is the life jacket that we have for all three of our yorkies. I must confess that I did not realize how important it is to have the life jacket fit properly. Our first experience with one of these was a disaster. The jacket itself was too large and our dogs kept flipping over and it was pushing their face into the water. As you can see by my photos, we live on a lake. We are always riding the wave runners with our dogs or boating and to have them in a life jacket enables them to have as much fun as we are. Make sure that when you put your furry friend in a life jacket, its not too much jacket for the dog. If the back of the jacket comes all the way to their tail, it is too much jacket. This will make their whole body float which will push their head down or flip them over. Neither one of these choices do you want. What you want is for the hind quarters of the dog to be lower than the head. If you watch the video on the Ruff Wear site, this gives you a good idea of what you’re looking for.
